Wiz Khalifa Is Charged With Weed Smoking in Romania

Romanian police have officially indicted rapper Wiz Khalifa, whose real name is Cameron Thomaz, after he was caught using cannabis onstage at the Beach, Please! festival in Costinesti in July.

Following the concert, the 37-year-old artist was taken into custody for unlawful narcotics possession. The matter has now progressed to court after the investigation by the nation’s anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, was finished.

Khalifa is charged with possessing hazardous substances “without the right, with a view to personal consumption,” according to a statement issued by DIICOT on October 15. Authorities discovered the rapper in possession of a cannabis cigarette and 18.53 grams of cannabis during his detention. The Constanta Court is now scheduled to hear the matter.

After being released from detention, the rapper known as “Black and Yellow” apologized for the event. He expressed his regrets on social media, writing on X (previously Twitter): “The show last night was incredible. When I lit up on stage, I didn’t mean any disrespect to Romania. They let me depart with much respect. I’ll be returning soon, but this time without a big a** joint.

Wiz has long been well-known for his support of cannabis. He has an 11-year-old son named Sebastian with his ex-wife Amber Rose and recently welcomed a three-month-old daughter named Kaydence with girlfriend Aimee Aguilar.

He even joked that his son’s instructors anticipate him to show up to school meetings high during a recent interview with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, saying he’s “pretty sure” his son “smells” of cannabis.
