The Texans sign LB Devin White
Devin White, a former Pro Bowl linebacker, inked a contract with the Houston Texans on Wednesday.
The Texans did not reveal the terms of the agreement for White, who was cut loose by the Philadelphia Eagles on October 8.
White signed a one-year, $4 million contract with the Eagles in free agency following a five-year stay with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2021. However, he did not participate in a game with the squad during the regular season.
He missed a fifth game due to personal reasons, and the Eagles placed him on the inactive list for the first four games of the season.
Since the Bucs selected White fifth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, the 26-year-old has played in 76 games (75 starts) and made 566 tackles (40 for loss), 23 sacks, 64 quarterback hits, three interceptions, six forced fumbles, and nine fumble recoveries.
During three postseason games in 2020, he recorded two interceptions and two fumble recoveries, including catching Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LV, which saw the Buccaneers defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9.
