Gordon and Newcastle agree on a long-term contract

Anthony Gordon, a winger for Newcastle, has agreed to a new, long-term contract with the Premier League team.

The 23-year-old joined the Magpies from Everton in January 2023 for £45 million, and in 74 games since then, he has scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists.

Gordon was a member of the Three Lions team that advanced to the Euro 2024 final after making his England debut in March of this year.

Over the summer, he was linked to a transfer back to his homeland with Liverpool, but it never happened.

Gordon stated, “I just think the club’s in a great place,”

“It has been steadily rising since the acquisition. In terms of our playing styles, the gaffer and I are a wonderful combination. I adore this place.

“I’m here to win a title, and the squad is a great fit for me. The gist is that we must take home a trophy.

“The supporters have waited so long that it would be fantastic to win a trophy here. One of my biggest goals is to be a member of the team that eventually succeeds.

Gordon has developed as a “player and a person” after relocating to St. James’ Park, according to Newcastle manager Eddie Howe.

“He is dedicated to improving himself and the team, and when you add that to the quality of his performances and his incredibly high work-rate, it’s clear to see why he has such a special connection with our supporters,” explained Howe.

“There’s even more to come from Anthony and I’m excited about what’s ahead for him and us.”
