FIFA Bans Young Africans SC from Transfers

Young Africans SC, a Tanzanian football team, has been officially banned by FIFA from recruiting new players outside. This action was taken in response to the club’s failure to pay Hafiz Konkoni, the claimant in the case.

The FIFA Head of Disciplinary, Americo Espallargas, signed the letter, which states that the ban will last until the entire amount owing to Konkoni is paid. The claimant may ask the FIFA Disciplinary Committee for further disciplinary measures if the payment is not made during the following three complete and consecutive registration periods.

FIFA has directed the Tanzania Football Federation to immediately impose the ban, which also forbids Young Africans SC from registering new players locally, if it hasn’t been put into effect at the national level yet.

The letter makes it clear that the prohibition won’t be revoked until the whole sum owed—including any applicable interest—is received. Konkoni retains the right to ask for additional punishments, such as a suspension extension, if the payment is not settled after the designated registration windows.

FIFA’s stringent enforcement of financial justice in football is reflected in this ruling, which guarantees that clubs fulfill their financial obligations. The task today for Young Africans SC is to settle the conflict quickly in order to prevent long-term penalties that might affect its ability to compete.

In order to emphasize the gravity and immediacy of the situation, the letter was also forwarded to Konkoni via Islam Hisham and the Tanzania Football Federation.
