Work on “Jason Bourne 6” is underway

There are rumors that a sixth “Jason Bourne” film is being developed.

Since the simply named 2016 film “Jason Bourne,” the Matt Damon-led spy franchise has not been seen. However, according to a recent listing from Production Weekly, Universal Pictures is now developing the next installment of the franchise, which is said to be called “The Bourne Dilemma.”

In addition to disclosing the project’s purported title, the listing states that Edward Berger, the director of “All Quiet on the Western Front,” has agreed to produce the movie and take over the franchise from Paul Greengrass.

The Times newspaper reported that Greengrass, who had directed the series since “The Bourne Supremacy” in 2004, was asked by Prince William if he would think about directing another “Jason Bourne” film. The 69-year-old director, however, refused, stating that the studio “need somebody younger.”

At a recent BAFTA and Royal African Society dinner, the Prince of Wales asked for additional “Jason Bourne” pictures. The filmmaker responded, “Not for me, they need somebody younger, I’ve done my bit.”

“But I think they’re in the process, and I hope they get someone young and talented to do it.”

Matt Damon previously stated that he would be delighted to collaborate with Edward Berger on a “Jason Bourne” film, despite the fact that the filmmaker seemed to have abandoned the franchise.

The “Oppenheimer” star stated during an interview on “The Late Show” that “All Quiet on the Western Front” is a great movie, and he’s amazing. He also claimed to have an idea [for “Jason Bourne”).

He’s working on it because I would really like to collaborate with him. Look, I hope this thing [happens] is fantastic and that we can pull it off. I’m just as nervous as you are.

Nevertheless, the 54-year-old actor acknowledged that he can’t continue playing the spy.

“Someone is going to have to take it over at some point,” he stated. My age isn’t decreasing.
