As Lupita Nyong’o honors her late co-star Chadwick Boseman, she breaks down in tears

As she honored her late “Black Panther” co-star Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o broke down in tears.

Though she hasn’t been able to see the 2018 Marvel film since he died, the 41-year-old actress stated she doesn’t “run away from the tears or the grief” when thinking about the late actor, who died of colon cancer in 2020 at the age of 43.

When asked about her career during a BFI London Film Festival Q&A, she said, “I haven’t seen the film since Chadwick died.”

Lupita calmed herself and went on: “The love is all that is grieving. No place exists for it. I don’t flee from my sorrow or tears. You simply adapt to it. We got to see him [in the movie], which makes me think, “Wow,” but I’m not sure if I’ll ever stop crying over the loss of my friend. We got to witness his life. And that is really amazing.

When the chance to star in “Black Panther” originally arose, Lupita also revealed that she was in negotiations to be in another Marvel film.
