Tanzania aims to qualify early for the Morocco tournament in the 2025 AFCON, according to Suleiman

Hemed Suleiman, the coach of Taifa Stars, expressed his satisfaction with his team’s progress as they prepare to play DR Congo in back-to-back 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

With four points from two games, Stars merely need at least two wins from their four remaining qualifiers to be assured of getting it to the AFCON finals to be held next year in Morocco.

“At this point, our primary attention is on the next two games against DR Congo, which we know will be tough given their recent history of strong performances.

“They are not an easy team to beat but I am confident with the progress of our players in camp…they are working hard to help their team succeed in DR Congo,” Suleiman remarked as quoted by Daily News.

He continued by saying that his charges are adapting well to the training methods they are receiving, which gives him hope that they will perform admirably.

Our goal is to obtain AFCON qualification as soon as possible. Because of this, winning these two games in a row against DR Congo is crucial to the success of our strategy.

“We hold them in high regard. They have talented players, but keep in mind that we currently have a strong combination of both young and seasoned players who are capable of taking on any club,” he stated.

Mohamed Hussein, a defender for the club, stated that they are confident and excited for the upcoming two games.

“We are progressing well and so far, I can say we do not have any problems…We would triumph if we only concentrate on the next interactions and have the full support of our fellow Tanzanians, he added.

The Taifa Stars are in a stronger position to qualify for their fourth AFCON final because three of their final four games will take place at the storied Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

With four points, they are currently in second position in group H, whereas DR Congo leads the group with six points after winning both of their first two games.
