Ajax fans fight with Prague cops and try to break into the stadium

On Thursday, some Ajax Amsterdam fans tried to get into Slavia Prague’s Eden Park stadium without tickets for their Europa League match. The Czech police caught and arrested several of them.

“Police in riot gear had to use force to calm things down, and a number of fans were arrested,” cops said on the social media network X.

A group of several hundred fans had gathered in Prague’s Old Town Square earlier. Police found knives, baseball bats, and batons left there before the fans took the subway to the stadium.

In order to keep things calm before and after the game, several hundred police officers were sent out across the city.
