The cause of Pete Rose’s death has been revealed
The report from the doctor came in less than 24 hours after Pete Rose died at the age of 83.
A family friend is said to have found the baseball legend dead in his Las Vegas home on Monday afternoon. After several hours, authorities decided that his death was normal based on what they had found.
Pete Rose breathed his last breath at the age of 83. He had a great baseball career that was ruined by charges of gambling. He did a lot of great things, but he was never admitted into the Hall of Fame.
It was heart disease that killed Pete Rose.
Nevada’s Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner said that Rose died of arterial disease caused by high blood pressure and atherosclerosis.
Furthermore, the story said that Rose had been dealing with diabetes mellitus before he passed away. Since there were no signs of foul play, the baseball star’s death was thought to have been normal.
On Tuesday, October 1, the coroner made the statement. That same day, a family member was said to have found Rose dead in his Las Vegas home. He hadn’t been seen in public since September 29, so his death came as a shock.
Rose went to a Fiterman Sports Group meet-and-greet in Nashville at the time and posed for a picture with some of his old Big Red Machine friends. The 83-year-old was smiling big in the picture that TMZ released.
Rose was last seen being wheeled around.
There were reports that Rose was in a wheelchair at the meet-and-greet because his back hurt. But people who knew him said that didn’t make him sad, as you can see in the picture.
The baseball league paid tribute to his life and impact in a moving statement. His smile and other things will be missed. The MLB said, “Our deepest condolences go out to Pete Rose’s family and friends in baseball.”
“And the fans of his hometown of Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Montreal, and beyond who admired his greatness, grit, and determination on the field of play,” they said.
On X, Bob Castellini, the owner of the Cincinnati Reds, said something similar: “He was one of the fiercest competitors the game has ever seen, and every team he played for was better because of him.”
Why the late athlete was never inducted into the Hall of Fame
The magazine Hollywood Life says Rose had a great baseball career. He hit 160 home runs with the Cincinnati Reds and the Philadelphia Phillies. Sadly, his reputation was ruined when the MLB banned him for life for gambling charges.
It was said that the late athlete broke the rules by betting on and gambling on his team while he was with the Reds. The fallout hurt his chances of getting into the Hall of Fame.
A recent interview with former MLB commissioner Fay Vincent talked about Rose’s gambling problems. Vincent said, “He made some mistakes as he came along, and by the time I got to know him and Bart and dealt with him in the betting issue, it was really too late.”
“I mean, he had formed his attitude and his character, and I’m afraid that he really thought that money was so important, and he was betting a lot, and he lost a lot, and I think the corruption problem in his life was a serious one,” Vincent said.
Five years before he died, Rose was in a divorce battle.
Rose was married twice. From 1964 to 1980, he was married to Karolyn Englehardt. His second marriage, to Carol J. Woliung, ran from 1984 to 2011, but they got divorced after a long battle that lasted many years.
Court records that The Blast got in 2018 show that Rose asked a judge to officially end his marriage to his second wife. When he proposed to Kiana Kim, a former Playboy model, he told her that they had broken up on December 31, 2009.
The late athlete said he had to be officially single before he could marry the media personality, even though Kim was 39 years younger than him. But, “Carol Rose … has been unreasonable and now even insisting that the separation date was in 2017.”
Pete Rose’s Iconic MLB Career: A Look Inside
Rose played in Major League Baseball from 1963 to 1986 and was known as “Charlie Hustle.” He played for the Cincinnati Reds, who were known as “the Big Red Machine” because they dominated the National League in the 1970s.
The famous baseball player also had a great run with the Philadelphia Phillies, where he won his third World Series. He was a manager for the Reds from 1984 to 1989 and for a short time with the Montreal Expos.
Wikipedia lists three World Series wins, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Glove Awards, and the Rookie of the Year Award as some of his accomplishments.
Peace out, Joe Rose.
