Halle Berry Desires A “John Wick” Film Spin-Off of Her Own

Halle Berry wants to star in a spin-off film of “John Wick.”

The 58-year-old actress played former assassin Sofia Al-Azwar alongside Keanu Reeves, 60, in the 2019 film “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.” She has since disclosed that she has discussed carrying on her character’s tale in a follow-up movie with Lionsgate Films.

Berry responded, “Yeah, I wish that would have happened, but that’s not the route they went [in ‘Chapter 4’],” when The Hollywood Reporter asked if she had hoped to have returned in ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’.

“I believed that would have made a fantastic plot. Without a doubt, we discussed it. We teased it in “John Wick: Chapter 3,” and we’ve discussed the possibility of a spinoff with Lionsgate.

Even though the actress stated that a potential Sofia Al-Azwar movie was still in the pitching stage, the “Catwoman” actress emphasized that she remained hopeful the idea would finally be realized.

“We need to do it sooner rather than later, but that might happen,” she stated. And I adore that cosmos. You never know; I really enjoyed the character in “John Wick.” We’ll see.

The “Never Let Go” actress has previously hinted that her character would have a movie of her own. This is not the first time Berry has suggested she might return to the “John Wick” universe.

Before “Chapter 4” was released, she said to IGN, “Sofia isn’t in the next ‘John Wick’ movie.” Sofia might get to star in her own film.

Therefore, she might not be in “John Wick [Chapter 4],” but instead be engaged in her own endeavors.

While Lionsgate has demonstrated that they are open to growing the franchise with projects like the Mel Gibson-starring TV program “The Continental: From the World of John Wick” and Ana de Armas’ upcoming film “Ballerina,” it is highly unlikely that Berry will receive her own spin-off picture.

The 36-year-old actress stated earlier this month that the film will still be worth the wait even though it had to be reshot for release early next year.

She said, “Every time they say you have reshoots, it’s not good,” in an interview with Collider. It doesn’t make you feel wonderful.

“Everything we did during the reshoots had to be present. We have incredible video. It truly is amazing.
