Inzaghi’s struggling Interface a touch test from Udinese, who are in good form

Inter Milan comes to Serie A with a surprise deal As of five games, the champions are sixth in the standings and have to play Udinese on Saturday. If they don’t win, it could be too late for them.

Italian news outlets say that the club’s board is unhappy with Inter’s lackluster start to the season, which has put the boss under a lot of scrutiny.

Since AC Milan’s late 2-1 win in Sunday’s derby took some heat off of coach Paulo Fonseca for now, all eyes are on Inzaghi, whose team has only eight points.

Inter will have a tough game against third-placed Udinese. Udinese has won all four of their games so far, with AS Roma beating them 3-0 in their only loss.

Marcus Thuram of Inter has scored four goals so far this season, which puts him tied for first place in the scoring charts. However, Lautaro Martinez, the captain, needs to get back to scoring after a goalless streak.

Inter relied on their top scorer a lot last season, when he scored 24 league goals, but the forward hasn’t scored yet this season.

Martinez hasn’t had much time to rest since his busy summer with Argentina, when they won the Copa America.

“I feel that responsibility and realise I am not doing what I did last season,” he said. “I’m lagging behind, but all I can do is keep working to get stronger.”

MILAN BOOST

Fonseca got a big help from Milan’s win over Inter, but he’s still not out of the woods. A home win over 17th-placed Lecce on Friday would give him some breathing room, though.

Another win could also buy him time to get people to believe in his plans for the team, especially since Milan’s board is said to be happy with how things went against Inter.

But Fonseca will probably not have team leader Davide Calabria with him because he has been tired lately.

Not beat Juventus is in fourth place after three straight goalless draws, but they’ve had a good start to the season and haven’t given up a goal yet.

The lack of goals has made things hard for boss Thiago Motta, who doesn’t have a reliable striker to lead the line.

Because Dusan Vlahovic hasn’t been playing well lately, some people want him to be dropped. Arkadiusz Milik’s problems don’t make things any easier either.

Since the transfer window is closed, Juve doesn’t have many choices. If they keep having trouble scoring, Timothy Weah and 19-year-old Kenan Yildiz may get more chances to start.
