Fatman Scoop’s cause of death was revealed a month after he passed out during a performance
Fatman Scoop, who died at the age of 56 while performing on stage, finally had his cause of death disclosed.
Calling him a “radiant soul” and the “undisputed voice of the club,” his family emphasized not just his loving position as a father and friend but also his influence on music.
Following his passing, celebrities including as Missy Elliott and Lil Jon sent their respects, and Fatman Scoop’s ex-wife Shanda Freeman paid tribute to him on Instagram, referring to him as a “icon.”
Cause of Death of Fatman Scoop Disclosed
A month after his death, Fatman Scoop (actual name: Isaac Freeman III)’s cause of death has been determined.
The popular hype man died of hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, which caused him to collapse on August 30 while performing in Hamden, Connecticut, according to the Connecticut medical examiner’s office, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Following his demise, his relatives issued a profound statement praising him for being more than simply a “world-class performer; he was a father, brother, uncle, and friend.”
“Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life,” they told us. “He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage.”
“The undisputed voice of the club,” Scoop’s family praised him, pointing out that his “music made us dance and embrace life with positivity.”
During a live performance, Fatman Scoop collapsed.
Scoop’s last minutes were spent performing live, when he suddenly had a medical problem that startled the crowd.
The Grammy Award-winning performer abruptly vanished from view behind a DJ booth, causing the audience to shout, as shown on video from the event.
The hype man had just been getting the crowd excited and telling them to “make some noise!” In footage posted by supporters, Scoop could be seen strutting confidently towards the rear of the stage and repeating, “I said Hamden, make some noise!”
It seemed like his breathing got harder as he panted into the microphone after going up the steps to the DJ booth.
After saying, “If you came to the party,” he stopped for a considerable amount of time before bending forward. He continued, “Make some noise,” in a sloppy voice, before tumbling to the ground and throwing down the microphone.
As paramedics raced to Scoop’s help, an instant feeling of fear spread over the attendees.
Missy Elliott, Lil Jon, and Other Artists’ Tributes Pour In As The Music Industry Laments Fatman Scoop
Tributes to him poured onto social media after his death, with Missy Elliott paying a moving homage to him and wishing his family courage through this trying time.
“Prayers for STRENGTH during this difficult time for the Fatman Scoop family,” she said. Many songs that have made people happy and eager to dance for more than 20 years have benefited from Fatman Scoop’s voice and passion. Your influence is immense and will always be remembered.”
Timbaland and Lil Jon, who were both up-and-coming hip-hop musicians at the time, also expressed their sorrow. On Scoop’s family’s message, Lil Jon said, “Rest well, brother.”
On X (previously Twitter), a fan wrote, “To the renowned Fatman Scoop, may you rest in perfection. I’m not sure what to say you if, as a child, you weren’t thrilled about the You Got Served Intro.
Shanda Freeman, Fatman Scoop’s ex, Pays Him a Heartfelt Tribute: “He Was A Myth And A Legend.”
In honor of the adored hype man and artist, Shanda Freeman, the ex-wife of Scoop, also posted a poignant tribute on Instagram.
Shanda wrote that Scoop is a “icon” and that she adores him in her message. “I would like to personally thank every individual who has shown so much love for Isaac @fatmanscoop and myself,” the writer added. He is adored by a large number of people and was a legend and icon.”
She emphasized his giving nature, writing, “He was a pure heart and loved reaching back and helping others,” beside a screenshot from their MTV reality show, “Man & Wife,” from the early 2000s.
Shanda highlighted the strong morals that his parents had taught him, saying, “Isaac had THE BEST PARENTS and learned his heart from them.” There are a lot of people who will always miss, love, and cherish him.
She went on, “I’ll always be grateful and in love with him since he put me in front of the camera. Many thanks to all of you! Shanda.”
The day Fatman Scoop passed away, a new music video was released.
Scoop was born in New York City in 1971, and she became well-known in the early 2000s by working with celebrities like Mariah Carey and Missy Elliott.
His loud voice and exuberant theatrical persona helped him gain recognition. For his collaboration on “Lose Control” with Missy Elliott and Ciara, the late rapper was awarded a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video.
Prior to his tragic passing, Scoop gained notoriety in the podcasting and reality TV industries.
The music video for Scoop’s new song, “Let It Go,” featuring Dyce Paso, was just released the day before he tragically collapsed.
