Lazio fans were not allowed to go to the Dynamo Kyiv game after guns were found in Germany

A group of Lazio fans can’t go to Thursday’s Europa League game in Hamburg against Dynamo Kyiv because German police took their guns, the club and police said on Wednesday.

When the fans tried to get away from a police officer who was following them near the city hall, they were stopped and checked by riot officers.

Lazio said in a statement that some fans were stopped by police and told they couldn’t get into the stadium for Thursday’s game, but no one was actually arrested.

Hamburg police said they collected a number of knives and other items. They also said that about 60 Italian football fans spent the night in jail cells.

The game on Thursday is being held in Hamburg because Russia invaded Ukraine.

Before a Lazio game against Bayern Munich in March, an Italian fan was stopped in Munich for giving the Hitler salute.
