Juric says Roma players are upset that De Rossi was fired

Ivan Juric, the new coach of AS Roma, said that his players were upset that Daniele De Rossi was fired, but he was happy with how they played as they beat Udinese 3-0 on Sunday to get their first Serie A win of the season.

After his team lost all four of their first league games, De Rossi was fired on Wednesday. He had played for Roma for almost twenty years. Juric, who used to guide Torino, was hired to take over for him.

To calm down the fans who were upset about De Rossi’s firing, Lina Souloukou, Roma’s CEO, quit on Sunday.

“Upon becoming coach, I saw that some of the guys here were extremely disappointed about Daniele’s sacking,” he told Sky Sports.

“They told me straight out that they were upset that he was fired. I really liked that because players sometimes hide their feelings like that.

“They’ve worked hard and put in a lot of hours over the last few days…” I thought the team did a great job, especially in the first half.”

Roma has six points after five games. On Thursday, they host Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League. On Sunday, they play Venezia in Serie A.

“Our big team gives me the freedom to change things up.” “There will be a lot of rotation in the next two weeks,” Juric said.
