Diddy has been accused with racketeering, sex trafficking, and assault in a federal case

Popular US rapper Sean Combs, better known as Diddy, is currently in jail awaiting his trial. He has been charged with sex trafficking, racketeering plot, and a number of other crimes in a federal sex trafficking case.

On Tuesday, Combs, 54, was sent to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. This is a place that has been called “hell on earth” and a “ongoing tragedy.”

There have been problems with the building since it opened in the 1990s. It is the only federal jail in New York City.

In the past few years, it has been so bad there that some judges won’t send people there.

A lot of famous people have also been locked up there, like singer R. Kelly, actress Ghislaine Maxwell, and Trump lawyer Michael Cohen.

Female victims and male sex workers say that Diddy made them do drugged-up, sometimes days-long sex acts called “Freak Offs.”

What are Freak Offs, though? Court papers say that Mr. Combs “used the power” of his fame to “lure female victims… to engage in extended sex acts” known as “Freak Offs.”

“During Freak Offs, Combs distributed a variety of controlled substances to victims, in part to keep the victims obedient and compliant,” the charge said.

US lawyer Damian Williams told reporters that during raids on Mr. Combs’ homes in Miami and Los Angeles about six months ago, police found guns, bullets, and more than 1,000 bottles of lubricant.

Feds said in court papers that Mr. Combs had “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and hide his conduct.”

Charges against Mr. Combs include “creating a criminal enterprise” whose members, with his permission, did things like sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, setting fires, and taking bribes.

The papers said that Mr. Combs abused women by “striking, punching, dragging, throwing objects at, and kicking them” on many occasions.

People say that the founder of Bad Boy Records, who used to go by the name Puff Daddy, set up a network of friends and workers who used blackmail tools like party videos to keep victims in line.

“In arranging these Freak Offs, Combs, with the assistance of members and associates of the Combs Enterprise, transported, and caused to be transported, commercial sex workers across state lines and internationally,” the court papers said.

It is said that these workers would be in charge of making the “Freak Offs” possible by booking hotel rooms.

Associates allegedly set up travel for victims, sex workers, and Diddy. They would also bring cash to pay the workers and plan IV fluid deliveries, which were used to get money from the parties.

The police say these “Freak Offs” would happen often and could last for several days.

It is said that his workers would also make sure that the “Freak Offs” had baby oil, blankets, drugs, and lights.

Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, has said that his client is innocent and that they will appeal the bail ruling. A hearing is set for Wednesday afternoon.

The “Freak Offs,” according to Agnifilo, were agreed upon ahead of time and were not forced.

“Is it helping people get sex?” He said, “Not if everyone wants to be there.”

As of late 2018, when Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a civil suit against him, more and more claims of physical, sexual, and mental abuse have been made against him.

After the case was filed, Combs settled it out of court the next day. However, since then, nine more people have come forward to say that the rapper abused them.

Ventura said that Combs gave her “ecstasy, cocaine, GHB, ketamine, marijuana, and alcohol in excessive amounts,” which helped her forget about things while she did sex acts with sex workers.

Ventura claimed that in the end, she was told to help hire the sex workers and find a place for Combs’s Freak Offs.

Ventura said in her lawsuit that Combs’s helpers were told to put “baby oil and Astroglide” in hotel rooms before Freak Offs. Combs would tell her during Freak Offs, she said, to “pour excessive amounts of oil over herself.”

As part of the indictment, the government says that Combs regularly hurt his victims physically. They say Combs abused women by “kicking, striking, punching, dragging, and throwing things at them.” They also say he “hit, kicked, threw things at, and sometimes dragged victims by their hair.”

He was put in jail without bail by a federal judge while he waits his trial. On Wednesday, Combs asked the judge if he could wait for his trial from his fancy home on an island near Miami Beach instead of the grim federal jail. That request was turned down.
