The deputy president of South Africa is ‘fine’ after passing out during a speech

According to the national broadcaster SABC, South Africa’s Deputy President Paul Mashatile was in good health after experiencing heat-related difficulties during a speech on Saturday afternoon.

According to SABC, Mashatile lost consciousness while speaking at a ceremony honoring the investiture of a local traditional chief in Tzaneen, Limpopo province, located 412 kilometers (256 miles) northeast of Johannensburg.

Phophi Ramathuba, the provincial premier of Limpopo and a medical practitioner, assured the broadcaster that Mashatile was not at risk, as he had experienced respiratory difficulties near the conclusion of his address.
“The Deputy President is in good health and is accompanied by his medical team.” “I accompanied them, he is in good health and there is no cause for concern,” Ramathuba stated.
