Iran resists pressure caused by sanctions imposed by the US and EU

The foreign minister of Iran expressed Tehran’s willingness to engage in diplomatic means to resolve conflicts, but emphasized that Tehran would not tolerate any form of coercion or intimidation, as reported by state media on Saturday. This statement comes in response to the imposition of sanctions by the United States and three European countries on Iran’s aviation industry.

One day after the European Union’s chief diplomat announced that the bloc is contemplating imposing additional sanctions on Iran’s aviation industry in response to allegations that Tehran provided Russia with ballistic missiles during its conflict with Ukraine, Abbas Araqchi made these remarks.

“Iran persists on its own trajectory with fortitude, while maintaining a willingness to engage in negotiations to settle conflicts… however, the dialogue should be founded on mutual respect rather than intimidation and coercion,” stated Araqchi, as reported by the official news agency IRNA.

Araqchi stated on Wednesday that Tehran has not supplied any ballistic missiles to Russia, and mentioned that the sanctions imposed by the United States and three European countries on Iran would not resolve any issues between them.

On Tuesday, the United States, Germany, Britain, and France unilaterally implemented fresh sanctions on Iran, which encompassed actions targeting its national airline, Iran Air.
