Rich Homie Quan, a rapper, passed away at the age of 34

Radio One Atlanta has been informed by sources that Rich Homie Quan has passed away.

The news was also confirmed by TMZ, which cited a representative for the Fulton County morgue and the rapper’s family, who affirmed that the platinum-selling rapper passed away at his Atlanta residence.

TMZ Hip Hop was informed by Rich Homie Quan’s family that they are “shattered and heartbroken” by his sudden death.

They are “desperately searching for answers” and have not reported the cause of death.

Lil Boosie, a rapper, tweeted on Thursday on X, “JUST GOT WORD @RichHomieQuan.” I JUST HAD A DISCUSSION WITH WUAN THE OTHER DAY!!! #gomissun***a.

He responded with a tweet that read, “I just spoke to you, bra.” #tip-QUAN Never forget your smile, the manner in which you spoke, and, of course, your music.

Jacquees, the singer, also tweeted about the rapper’s demise, stating,

“My brother, Rich Homie Quan, may you rest in peace.” Lifelong affection is my affection for you. #Richgang.

He referred to Rich Homie Quan as a “legend” in a subsequent tweet.

Quan, who was born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, was renowned for his singles “Walk Thru,” “Type of Way,” and “Flex (Oooh, Ooh, Ooh).”

He has been a long-standing collaborator of Young Thug and was a member of Rich Gang, which included the rapper and Birdman.

According to HipHopWired, Quan, whose actual name is Dequantes Lamar, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 4, 1989. Quan began to actively pursue music in 2012, following a 15-month incarceration and a brief period as a college baseball player. He has since continued to develop his artistry. His debut single, “Type Of Way,” was released in 2013 as part of his mixtape Still Goin In: Reloaded. The subsequent year, he achieved gold status with “Walk Thru,” which featured fellow rapper Problem.
