Man United CEO says Ten Hag has the full support of the team

Omar Berrada, the chief executive of Manchester United, believes that the team fully supports manager Erik ten Hag and is hopeful that the elements are being put in place for the team’s long-term success both in Europe and at home.

After losing two of their first three games of the current season, United’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday dropped them to 14th place in the Premier League, where they finished eighth the previous season.

Erik has our whole support. In remarks made public on Monday, Berrada told reporters prior to the Liverpool game, “We think he is the right coach for us.”

“We have worked very closely together in this transfer window, and we are going to continue working very closely with him to help get the best results out of the team.”

The 2012–13 season was Alex Ferguson’s final campaign as United’s manager. Although winning the Premier League is the team’s primary goal, Berrada stated that a long-term strategy is also necessary. United has won 20 English top division titles.

“We don’t want to just win one Premier League and be satisfied,” he stated. “We want to create a team that is capable of competing for the Champions League, for the Premier League and for the domestic cups on a consistent basis.”

Berrada stated there was a sense that things were going well at the team following a successful summer in the transfer market and with new faces in the boardroom.

“I can sense it, and I can also speak for myself, which is I’m very excited and very optimistic at what we have in front of us,” he stated.

“I think we’re starting to put the right pieces in place, and I’m absolutely convinced that we’re going to be successful.”
