Manchester United is set to take on Fenerbahce away in the Europa League, adding another exciting match to their schedule

Manchester United has been selected to host Scottish side Rangers and will also be traveling to Turkey to face Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in the upcoming 36-team Europa League. The draw for these matches was made on Friday.

Two teams from the Premier League have qualified for the competition this year. Tottenham Hotspur secured their spot by finishing fifth in the league, while United earned their place through their victory in the FA Cup.

The league phase of the tournament is divided into four pots, each containing nine clubs. The division is based on the club coefficient. Teams will compete against a variety of opponents, playing four matches at their home stadium and four matches at their opponents’ stadiums. The selection of teams will be determined using computer algorithms.

The fixtures are determined based on seeding and every result will contribute to the overall league standings.

Mourinho, who led Manchester United to a Europa League victory in 2017 by defeating Ajax 2-0 in the final, is set to reunite with his former club, where he held the position of manager from 2016 to 2018.

Tottenham, who won the tournament’s first edition in 1972, are back in European competition after a year-long break. Postecoglou’s team will face AS Roma in Serie A and will also travel to Scotland to play against Rangers, along with six other scheduled matches.
