Azam FC was unable to secure a victory in their Premier League opener against JKT Tanzania

AZAM FC’s aspirations for a strong beginning to the season were crushed as they experienced a disappointing 0-0 draw with JKT Tanzania at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

Both teams only managed to secure one point in their opening match.

Both teams find themselves in mid-table after the draw, with Azam in ninth place and JKT Tanzania in eleventh.

Simba’s continued dominance in the league is evident as they maintain their position at the top with six points.

Azam dominated the match from the beginning, asserting their control over the game and displaying their superior strength compared to JKT Tanzania.

Despite their overwhelming control of the ball, Azam had a difficult time finding a way through JKT Tanzania’s determined defense.

On the other hand, JKT heavily relied on counterattacks to pose a threat to the Azam goal. However, they were unable to convert their chances into goals.

During the 27th minute, Azam believed they had successfully scored as Nassor Saadan completed a play started by Feisal Salum.

Unfortunately, the goal was disallowed for offside when the assistant referee raised his flag.

In the 18th minute, JKT Tanzania had an opportunity when their midfielder, Said Juma, took a direct shot. However, Azam’s goalkeeper made a crucial save to prevent them from scoring the opening goal.

By halftime, the scoreboard still showed a score of 0-0 as both teams struggled to find a breakthrough.

The second half unfolded with both teams employing a counter-attacking strategy, yet neither managed to capitalize on their opportunities and find the back of the net.

Despite making multiple changes, neither team managed to score and the game finished with no goals.

Both teams will be eager to recover from this unsatisfactory outcome in their upcoming matches.

JKT Tanzania is set to take on Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium, while Azam FC will have the privilege of hosting Simba Sports Club at their home ground.

Simba Sports Club continues to lead the league with six points, closely followed by Singida Black Stars, who also have six points but with a four-goal difference.

Mashujaa is currently in third place with a total of four points. There is another match scheduled for tonight, taking place at Majaliwa Stadium. It will be between Namungo and Fountain Gate.
