Gunmen have murdered at least 10 individuals in northern Nigeria, according to residents
At least ten farmers were murdered by gunmen in a village in the northern region of Niger state on Wednesday, according to residents.
In northwest Nigeria, armed organizations, which are locally referred to as “bandits,” have abducted residents, farmers, students, and motorists for ransom on a frequent basis.
Residents informed Reuters on Thursday that the assailants had attacked a group of farmers in the Allawa community of the Shiroro local government area in Niger late the previous day.
“Ten farmers were killed in their farms yesterday evening after being trapped,” stated Hassan Abubakar.
Indamishe Auwal, another resident who assisted in the removal of the carcasses, was disheartened by the incident and the general lack of security in the region.
“Shiroro is experiencing bleeding issues.” “Our people are experiencing hardship, and bandits have seized control of our agricultural land,” Auwal informed.
The Niger State Police spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
