Simba Sports Club terminates its agreement with striker Freddy Kouablan

Following a mutual agreement, SIMBA Sports Club has officially ended its seven-month relationship with Ivorian forward Freddy Michael Kouablan for good.

As the leading scorer in the Zambian division when he signed with Simba in January, Kouablan (pictured) was a much sought-after addition from Green Eagles FC in Zambia.

Kouablan made a significant impression in his brief time with the Tanzanian powerhouses, with 11 goals in all competitions, including six in the Premier League.

Notwithstanding his achievements, Kouablan was deemed unfit for the team’s future ambitions by head coach Fadlu Davids and the coaching staff.

After Lionel Ateba, a striker, was recently signed by Simba from USM Alger, one of the biggest teams in Algeria, Kouablan was released.

Considered Kouablan’s successor, Ateba inked a two-year contract with Simba. Focused on enhancing the team’s assault for the forthcoming season, Davids highly encouraged his arrival.

The decision to let go of Kouablan was prompted by Davids’ assessment of the team, which revealed that Ateba would provide a new dynamic to Simba’s front line.

There’s no denying that Simba’s management wants to assemble a team that can contend for national and continental championships. In order to bolster their offensive capabilities in anticipation of a challenging season, they made a calculated strategic signing in Ateba.

Midfielder Awesu Awesu from Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) FC has officially transferred to Simba, marking another noteworthy milestone. The move was able to go through without any problems, even if there had been some early problems with Awesu’s registration. With formal goodbyes, KMC FC wishes Awesu luck in his new position at Simba.

Along with Aishi Manula’s return to the team, the club has made changes in the goalkeeping department.

With his future and ailments still up in the air, Manula was left out of Simba’s preseason tour in Egypt. However, he is now healthy and ready to return to the club. With Moussa Camara, Ali Salim, Hussein Abel, and Ahmed Feruz, a U20 potential, among their excellent goalkeeping pool, Simba’s return is a major plus.

Goalkeeper Ayoub Lakred was injured during the preseason in Egypt, and Simba has chosen to deregister him in light of Manula’s comeback. Ateba’s registration required space, thus the club had to make this adjustment in order to prepare its roster for the upcoming campaign.

Simba is anxious to get off to a quick start as they prepare for the 2024–2025 Premier League season.

After playing Tabora United in their season opener yesterday, the team will face a number of difficult games in the coming weeks, including an away game against Tanzania Prisons at Sokoine Stadium on October 22 and a meeting against Fountain Gate FC on August 25 at the KMC Complex.

One of the most important early matches will be against Azam FC in the fourth round, which might have a big impact on Simba’s hopes for the championship.

Simba’s preparations for the CAF Confederation Cup extend beyond their efforts in the domestic league. The team that advances to the second round will play the victor of the preliminary match between Al Ahly Tripoli of Libya and Uhamiaji FC of Zanzibar.

In order to establish themselves on the continental scene, Simba prioritizes success in this tournament.

Simba has demonstrated its determination to winning the forthcoming season with its recent actions, which include the signing of Ateba, the departure of Kouablan, and the return of Manula. Simba is ready to face the difficulties of the 2024–2025 season with newfound vigor thanks to a retooled team and a clear vision. The club is in a strong position to contend for awards in every tournament, despite the difficult path ahead.
