East Congo hosts a humanitarian event with a Congolese rumba artist

Fally Ipupa, a musician, conducted a humanitarian concert in Goma, located in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, on Thursday.

A message of support and comfort was conveyed by the Congolese rumba star to the victims of the conflict in the region while speaking to thousands of music admirers.

“We are thinking of all of our brothers, mothers, and children who are being raped and massacred in various locations. “We are united here,” he declared.

In the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, tension and violence are the backdrop against which this potent message resonates.

The performer made use of the concert to convey his support for the individuals who are currently experiencing the conflict in North Kivu province.

His appeal for peace was warmly received by the audience, emphasizing the significance of music and culture as agents of optimism and tranquility during challenging periods.

According to the organizers, the event was intended to unite the community and increase awareness of humanitarian issues in the region, and it was organized under the slogan “A candle for each life unjustly snatched.”

“The population is demonstrating their fortitude by attending these types of events in large numbers.” Francine Kaboya, one of the organizers, stated, “Because it is a pop star, it sends a powerful message to the entire world: Goma must live and breathe.”

Massive population displacements have resulted from the conflict between the Congolese army and the M23 insurgents, further exacerbate the precarious humanitarian situation in the region.

Jacques Kyanga, a young man who attended the concert, explained to Africanews that he believed the event was worthwhile due to its emphasis on the humanitarian situation.

I am of the opinion that Fally Ipupa’s messages are well-received due to his strong influence. He stated, “I believe that I am content with that at my current level.”

“Everyone must contribute to the situation in the eastern DRC, including those who are responsible for other matters.” In his case, it is singing, it is guiding minds, and it is ensuring that everything proceeds smoothly.

Nevertheless, certain supporters were disappointed when the second concert, which was scheduled to occur on Friday evening, was canceled due to security concerns.

‘We are disappointed and dissatisfied with the suspension of the performance. “We have been anticipating his arrival since 2:00 p.m., and it is now 8 p.m., and he has yet to arrive,” expressed a despondent admirer, Moïse Hangi.

Fally Ipupa’s concert in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo follows his most recent tour of Europe, during which he performed to substantial gatherings.

His tour was scheduled to continue in the region, with performances scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Bukavu, located in the province of South Kivu.
