Halle Berry Is Fighting for Sole Custody, Claims Her Ex’s Toxic Behavior Is Harming Their Son

Halle Berry has reached a critical juncture in her protracted custody dispute with her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez. The Oscar-winning actress is currently petitioning for sole legal custody of their 10-year-old son, Maceo. Berry maintains that Martinez’s detrimental conduct is significantly affecting their child, and she is of the opinion that solitary custody is the sole viable alternative to provide Maceo with the necessary assistance.

Berry claims that Martinez has been a significant impediment to confronting Maceo’s severe behavioral and cognitive challenges, as supported by legal documents obtained by TMZ. Martinez has consistently prioritized soccer over academics, including refusing to employ a tutor because it would disrupt Maceo’s practice schedule, she asserts, despite her efforts to provide their son with the necessary support.

Berry claims that Maceo becomes furious and combative after spending extended time with his father, accusing Martinez of discussing their parental conflicts with the boy and distorting his perception of the situation. The emotional well-being of their son is being significantly impacted by these issues, Berry contends.

Berry is seeking the court to grant her sole legal custody, which would enable her to make all decisions regarding Maceo’s education and rehabilitation without interference from Martinez, despite their current arrangement of joint physical and legal custody. It is her conviction that this is the sole method by which she can assist her son in regaining his stride.

In 2015, the couple separated after only two years of marriage, and the custody dispute between Berry and Martinez has persisted for years. They have continued to escalate their disputes regarding Maceo’s upbringing, despite the fact that their divorce was finalized in August of last year.

Berry has expended hundreds of thousands of dollars in an attempt to resolve these disputes privately. However, she now believes that she is compelled to pursue legal action in order to ensure a more promising future for her son.
