Goalkeeper Szczesny departs Juventus by mutual consent
Wojciech Szczesny, a Polish goalkeeper, has left Juventus after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, the Serie A club said on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old, who played seven seasons with Juventus, had one year remaining on his contract but is now a free agent, with Italian media rumors linking him with Serie A club Monza and Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
“In an instant, Tek conquered the Juventus fans of the world and we are sure that we will all always carry in our hearts the man and the professional who wore our jersey with pride and commitment,” the team said in a statement.
“Thank you for everything Tek and good luck for the future.”
Szczesny began his career with Arsenal, joining the club at the age of 15 in 2006, before signing for Juventus in 2017 after loan spells at Brentford and AS Roma.
Szczesny won three Serie A league championships and three Coppa Italia with Juventus, where he appeared 252 times. He also has 84 caps for Poland. In July, Juventus signed Monza goalie Michele Di Gregorio.
