Simba SC was denied a penalty kick in their loss to Yanga SC

Fadlu Davids, the head coach of Simba SC, expressed his disappointment with the team’s failure to earn a penalty in the final minutes of their match against their arch-rivals, Young Africans, on Thursday.

Under a challenge from Young Africans defender Chadrack Boka, Kelvin Kijiri of Simba was brought down inside the penalty area. This incident transpired. Nevertheless, Davids and his team were greatly disappointed when referee Elly Sassi permitted play to continue.

Davids did not conceal his disappointment in the aftermath of the contest, asserting that the decision was a clear error.

“Initially, the referee should demonstrate courage and administer a penalty.” I reviewed it, and it was evident that it was a penalty. Davids stated, “I am aware that it is the 94th minute, but it is unacceptable to miss a clear penalty like that, particularly when it could have given us the goal,” as reported by the Guardian.

The South African coach recognized the deficiencies in his team’s assaulting department and admitted that they require reinforcements to enhance their offensive capabilities.
