‘We’re Just Twins,’ Ice Spice says in response to rumors that she’s dating rapper Central Cee

When discussing her bond with the British rapper, Ice said to “Rolling Stone,” “We’ve been friends since ‘Munch’ came out, honestly.”

In response to rumors that she is seeing Central Cee, Ice Spice is putting the record straight.

The 24-year-old Bronx native talked to Rolling Stone for the publication’s most recent cover story, which was released on July 25, and gave a brief update on her romantic life. Ice clarified that she is unmarried and said that the romance rumors involving her and the British rapper are just that—rumors.

The 26-year-old rapper stated, “We’ve been friends since ‘Munch’ came out, honestly,” clarifying that her relationship with Central Cee is platonic. “We are merely identical twins.”

Early in July, images and videos shared on social media showed Ice and Central Cee seen shopping and hanging out in London, which sparked rumors. A few days later, on July 11, the two shared their joint single “Did It First,” which can be heard on Ice’s debut album, Y2K!, along with a music video that featured the two looking cute and cuddly.

“If he’s cheatin’, I’m doin’ him worse / No Uno, I hit the reverse / I ain’t trippin’, the grip in my purse / I don’t care ’cause he did it first,” Ice sings on the song.

Rapping about infidelity behind a partner’s back, Central Cee’s verse goes, “I’m selective with who I get with / Gyal on my phone tryna see who I slept with / She investigating, detective / Lucky for me, I deleted the message.”

On July 12, during the Wireless Festival in London, the rapper duo had their first live performance of their joint track. Ice’s Y2K! World Tour began on July 4 in Denmark.

Ice’s romantic life has remained a mystery, although Central Cee last dated British TikToker Madeline Argy. The two broke up last year, but they started dating in 2022, according to Complex.

On July 12, Argy went popular on TikTok after criticizing her ex-boyfriend for allegedly being unfaithful in a number of videos, one of which poked fun at his “Did It First” collaboration with Ice.

She said, “Girls, you told me to stand up, so I’m standing up,” at the start of the video. “Let me tell you how I did not know that any of this was going to f—ing happen.” Argy continues by describing how, months before the song’s release, “Pookie” (a reference to Central Cee) shared his “Did It First” lyric with her and ostensibly “snitched” on his purported infidelity.

“I ask myself, ‘What the f—? You not only admitted to me that you are cheating, but you also told me exactly how. She went on, “Give me your f—ing phone.”

Argy went on to say that Central Cee had sent his “personal car” to pick her up and informed her he wanted to employ an influencer to promote one of his older songs. She asserted, nonetheless, that she was unaware that the scheme would spark rumors that he and Ice were dating.

In her video, Argy said, “I was knees-deep in that comments section asking if we’re still together.” “When I attempted to talk to him about it, all he would say was, ‘Okay,'” I’m beginning to realize at this point, “Oh, this is why girls don’t date rappers.”
