“Best Hype Man in the World” Guy Fieri teams up with Flavor Flav to support the U.S. women’s water polo team

At the Olympics in Paris, the two watched the U.S. women’s water polo team defeat France 17 to 5.

Guy Fieri will be the new hype man supporting the American women’s water polo team at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris!

Fieri, 56, and Flavor Flav, 65, sat together on Friday, August 2, to support the squad during their 17–5 victory over France in a preliminary match.

A video from the event was posted by the presenter of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I’m with the world’s favorite Guy,” Flav said to the camera in a humorous way. Yes, sweetheart.

It seemed like the two were enjoying the game together, as Fieri made a joke about how Flav is “the best coach.” The caption was updated by him to read, “Best hype man in the WORLD!! @FlavorFlav.”

In a subsequent video, Flav exclaimed, “Look who I got!” to the athletes as they were leaving the venue while the two cheered for the U.S. women’s water polo team.

A week ago, Fieri was photographed out on a lake excursion in Ruth Lake, California, accompanied by his sons Ryder and Hunter, as well as Hunter’s fiancée Tara Bernstein. This week, he is attending the Olympics. The family engaged in a range of outdoor pursuits, such as wakeboarding and hiking.

It is not surprising that Flav is attending the Olympics because in May the rapper pledged to support the American women’s water polo squad.

After team captain Maggie Steffens, 30, stated on Instagram that she and other players needed financial assistance in order to compete at the Olympics, the founding member of Public Enemy pledged to fund the team.

Later that month, Flav told PEOPLE, “By me sponsoring this water polo team, this is going to help me pull something off my bucket list.” “What do you know? I’ve always wanted to visit the Olympic Games and experience them firsthand, rather than just watching them on television. Do you understand what I mean?

According to Flav, he wanted to assist in giving the team a “chance.”

He remarked, “I’m saying that a lot of women want is just a chance.” “And all they want to accomplish is have a sense of having a chance. Thus, all I wanted to do was lend a hand and help offer women the opportunity they deserve.
