Cardi B discloses that she is expecting her third child after divorcing Offset

The rapper and rapper Offset already have a daughter, Kulture, 6, and a boy, Wave, 2½.

Cardi B is returning to motherhood!

The 31-year-old rapper of “I Like It” revealed on Instagram on Thursday, August 1, that she is expecting her third child.

I’m so happy we got to spend this season together; you’ve given me more life, more love, and most importantly, newfound strength.” Cardi captioned a couple pictures of herself showing off her stomach while wearing a red dress. “I was reminded that I can have everything! I’ve been reminded by you that I never have to choose between my passion, love, or life! I adore you so much and can’t wait for you to see what you pushed and encouraged me to achieve.”

“It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!” she wrote in her post.

After six years of marriage, Cardi announced her pregnancy the day after filing for divorce from her estranged spouse Offset, 32, a spokeswoman for the “Bodak Yellow” rapper told PEOPLE. “It’s not based on cheating rumors, but rather has been a long time coming,” the agent stated.

According to the site, Cardi B, 31, is requesting primary custody of their two children, Wave Set, age two and Kulture Kiari, age six. At the time of publication, the divorce file was not publicly accessible.

Offset has two kids from prior marriages, Jordan, 14, and Kody, 8, as well as a daughter, Kalea Marie, 9.

In December 2023, Cardi first revealed that she is single on Instagram Live, but she also said that she wasn’t sure how to break the news.

The rapper declared, “I’ve been single for a minute now,” at the moment. However, I’ve been terrified… I simply don’t know how to tell the world—I’m not terrified. However, I believe that today has been a sign.

Cardi also revealed that she had been hinting to her fans about the breakup by unfollowing Offset and sharing mysterious posts on her story.

Since December, Cardi and the Migos singer have celebrated New Year’s Eve together, Offset directed her music video for “Like What (Freestyle)” in March, they went to a Knicks game together in May, and in an interview with Rolling Stone that same month, Cardi stated that the two were “all right now.”

Cardi acknowledged that her husband was pitching in when he could after returning from tour, but she still felt overburdened. “My children come first. My children come first in my life.”

Since their September 2017 marriage, Cardi B and Offset have had an intermittent relationship, frequently as a result of his claimed infidelity. Following their 2018 breakup announcement, Cardi B filed for divorce in September 2020 after they had reconciled. They then withdrew their divorce petition.

Cardi discussed the turbulent romance between the couple in an interview with ELLE from 2020, stating, “I do know that my relationship has a lot of drama and everything.” However, there is a great deal of trust, a great deal of passion, a great deal of love, and a great deal of friendship.

“It’s always us against the world,” she continued.

The Migos musician earlier expressed his gratitude to Essence in April 2022 for his blended family. “It’s a blessing to be able to have them all together, and to have a wife who’s open and treats them as if they’re her kids,” he said. “It could be an issue, but I don’t have to go through that, and that’s beautiful.”At the moment, she remarked, “Because we do love each other,” but it goes beyond love. Our friendship is the best. And it says, “All right.” Yes, there was a period of time when I lacked a support network and a best friend. The question isn’t even, “How do you leave a partner?” How do you break up with your closest friend?

Cardi revealed in another part of her Rolling Stone interview how she’s been juggling motherhood with completing her upcoming album. The pleased mother acknowledged that she had been depending on her parents for help and that she was now attempting to find a nanny, but she was concerned about placing too much pressure on them.

The mother of two said, “I had them kids,” to the publication. “They weren’t my mother’s, they came out of my. They take mines.”
