Exclusive: Real Madrid soccer player Endrick signs on as a Red Bull brand ambassador

Brazilian adolescent soccer phenom Endrick of Real Madrid and Austrian energy drink manufacturer Red Bull on Tuesday inked a multi-year sponsorship agreement.

Endrick’s career is managed and represented by rapper Jay-Z’s agency, Roc Nation Sports in Brazil, whose COO, Thiago Freitas, indicated that the 18-year-old international player from Brazil will serve as a brand ambassador for the company.

The striker expands his portfolio of partnerships, which already includes Disney, New Balance, and Panini, with this new agreement.

Endrick, who last week was revealed as Real Madrid’s newest player, told Reuters on Monday, “I was thrilled when I received their invitation and we met soon after to talk about what we could do together.”

Red Bull was already a big part of my daily life, and I’m thrilled to be on this squad with so many amazing athletes. Being able to play football with this family unites all of my interests.”

In 2022, Real Madrid paid more than 60 million euros ($64.91 million) to recruit Endrick, then 16 years old, from Sao Paulo’s Palmeiras. However, because of FIFA’s rules regarding underage players, Endrick had to wait nearly two years to officially join the Spanish powerhouse.

Endrick, who grew up in the underprivileged neighborhoods of Brasilia, became a sensation after helping Palmeiras win a record-tying 12th Brazilian league title. He also became the country’s youngest international player since the legendary Pele in 1957.

In March, Endrick made history by becoming the youngest player to score in an international match at Wembley. His goal against England in the game halted the home team’s 21-game winning streak at the national stadium. Brazil won 1-0.

The managing partner of Wolff Sports, Fabio Wolff, told Reuters that “(The Red Bull deal) will focus on drawing and engaging new and existing audiences through multimedia storytelling about Endrick’s life path, which is an extraordinary one.”

After Al Hilal’s Neymar Jr., Endrick is the second Brazilian football player to get a Red Bull sponsorship.

The Austrian energy drink manufacturer also supports Brazilian athletes including Olympic and world surfing champion Italo Ferreira and six-time X-Games skateboarding champion Leticia Bufoni, as well as defender Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool and England.

One dollar is equal to 0.9243 euros.
