Aubameyang says goodbye to Marseille supporters before moving to the Saudi Pro League

Olympique Marseille has confirmed the departure of Gabon attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who left after the French team was unable to persuade him to turn down a Saudi Pro League contract.

The 35-year-old was OM’s top scorer in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons after he scored 30 goals in the previous campaign.

Aubameyang declared at the close of the season that he would not be leaving the team this summer, but he has now confirmed his departure from Marseille after being persuaded to change his mind by Al-Qadsiah’s attractive offer.

It’s time for me to turn a fresh page. The former Arsenal goal scorer expressed his gratitude on Instagram, writing, “Thank you, Mr. Frank McCourt, thank you Pablo for accepting my departure, thank you for your support in any ordeal, but especially thank you for offering me the chance to discover the warmth and passion of the Vélodrome.”
