British authorities find a suspect in the quadruple murder of a BBC commentator’s family

The wife and two daughters of a BBC horse racing pundit were killed in an event that is suspected to have used a crossbow, according to British police, who said on Wednesday that they had found a man wanted in connection with the killings.

At the residence in Bushey, a picturesque village 20 miles northwest of London, officers had found the three victims, ages 25, 28, and 61, seriously injured on Tuesday night. Not long after, they had passed away at the site.

The women were identified by the BBC as Carol Hunt, the wife of John Hunt, a commentator, and their two daughters.

Kyle Clifford, the suspect, was the focus of a massive search involving armed police, and the public was advised not to approach the 26-year-old.

Detective Inspector Justine Jenkins from the local Major Crime Unit released a statement saying, “Following extensive enquiries, the suspect has been located and nobody else is being sought in connection with the investigation at this time.”

Clifford was found with injuries, according to the police, and was being treated at a medical facility in north London. According to the statement, no police rounds were fired.

The victims have not yet been publicly identified, but according to the police, they thought the three ladies knew Clifford.

Chief Superintendent Jon Simpson had earlier on Wednesday described the incident as “horrific” and informed reporters that a crossbow and maybe other weapons were thought to have been used.

Hunt’s friends and coworkers reacted their surprise at the announcement.

Unable to understand the suffering. John, please know that you have our entire support. ITV horse racing pundit Matt Chapman remarked on X, “We love you, buddy—racing loves you.”
