Ancelotti: The Reason Real Madrid Refused to Sign Osimhen

The Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen is still one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers, thus Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti recently explained why Los Blancos decided against signing the African great.

Over the past several seasons, a number of elite clubs have been connected to the Nigerian international, with teams including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United keeping an eye on his progress in Italy.

Though Osimhen is predicted to depart the team before to the 2024–25 season beginning, he is anticipated to begin preseason training with Napoli in the following weeks.

Ancelotti revealed that Madrid considered Jude Bellingham rather than Osimhen as a potential Karim Benzema substitute in a recent interview with Radio Serie A.

Ancelotti said to Radio Serie A, “No, because I think the club thought that Benzema’s absence could be remedied by purchasing Bellingham,” according to Soccernet NG.

Nevertheless, last month’s acquisition of Kylian Mbappe by Real Madrid strengthened their offensive line. In addition to receiving a €150 million signing bonus, the Frenchman inked a five-year contract worth €15 million year.
