Antoine Semenyo will prolong his time at Bournemouth by signing a new five-year contract
Antoine Semenyo has been granted a new extended contract at Bournemouth as a result of his notable progress throughout his inaugural complete season on the southern coast.
The Ghanaian player, who signed a four-year contract with the Cherries after leaving Bristol City in January 2023, had a significant impact under the management of Andoni Iraola last season, contributing to his team’s achievement of a new club record of 48 points in the Premier League.
Semenyo experienced his most fruitful season, netting eight goals and contributing two assists in 33 league matches, which aided Iraola’s team in securing a 12th place finish in the standings, just missing out on a spot in the top 10 by just one point.
Bournemouth was awarded the Premier League’s Most Improbable Comeback accolade for the 2023/24 season. They managed to reverse a 3-0 disadvantage and defeat Luton 4-3 on 13 March 2024. The victory was secured by the 24-year-old winger, who scored two decisive goals.
Semenyo has recently agreed to a two-year extension of his contract, ensuring his stay at the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2029.
The velocity of Antoine’s development since joining 18 months ago has been evident to everyone. “He has consistently improved and had an exceptional first complete season with us,” stated Cherries chief executive Neill Blake on the club’s official website.
“Reaching an agreement on a new extended contract was crucial for us to acknowledge his significant role as a vital member of our team, and we are eagerly looking forward to witnessing this continuation for many years.”
