Parker appointed head coach of Burnley

Scott Parker has been named as Burnley’s next coach, the Championship team announced on Friday.

Parker, who previously led Fulham and Bournemouth to two Premier League promotions, most recently served as the head coach of Belgian team Club Brugge during the 2022–2023 campaign.

Former England midfielder Parker stated on the club website, “The most important thing is for us to be successful this year.”

“We must succeed and create a team that both the club and its supporters can be proud of. The goal is for this team to represent each and every one of them in that regard.”

After placing 19th in the rankings the previous season, Burnley was demoted from the Premier League, their second demotion from the top division in three years.

Alan Pace, the chairman, remarked, “We are ecstatic to welcome Scott to Burnley Football Club.” “His vision for the future aligns with our goals and ambitions of returning to the Premier League as soon as possible.”
