Marlon Wayans Adds His Name To List Of Famous Houses Burglars Targeted In L.A.
Although Marlon Wayans is accustomed to making jokes about his life, having his home broken into is not anything to chuckle about. What’s disturbing is that the property valued at over $5 million was looted by the criminals right in front of his brother.
Marlon Wayans has become the latest celebrity whose Los Angeles residence has been broken into.
Home of Marlon Wayans in Encino Robbed by Thieves
Law enforcement sources claim that Marlon wasn’t home when the house invasion happened last Saturday around 2:30 in the morning. Two daring robbers destroyed a back window and entered the house through the backyard of his Encino property.
Keenen Ivory Wayans, Marlon’s elder brother, claimed to have been awakened by a noise that sounded like breaking glass. But he brushed it off as unimportant and turned back to sleep.
The robbers must have been as silent as mice since they managed to loot the house without waking Keenen. The 66-year-old was unaware of what had transpired until Marlon’s employees arrived back at the property at 8:00 a.m., according to TMZ.
The incident shocked Marlon’s older brother.
According to sources, Keenen was taken aback when he learned that burglars had broken into his brother’s home without his knowledge and taken several thousand dollars’ worth of cash and a safe.
The “In Living Color” alum won’t be of much use because he was asleep when the crime occurred, despite the fact that officials have started looking into the event. Rather, police are allegedly looking for any video evidence in the Los Angeles region.
No one has been taken into custody, but it’s unclear how the inquiry is progressing. Celebrities now find Los Angeles to be a dangerous place to be, as robberies occur there at a startling rate.
Two NBA players’ residences were broken into last month. Former basketball player Patrick Patterson and shooting guard Talen Horton-Tucker of the Utah Jazz were the casualties.
Within Marlon’s Magnificent Encino Home
Two years have passed since Marlon made headlines when he purchased an ostentatious farmhouse in the Los Angeles district of Encino. He allegedly paid $5.3 million, which was a great deal at the time, for the 5,000-square-foot mansion considering its opulent details.
The five-bedroom house includes a large, open-concept living area that is visible from the glass pivot front entrance, which is framed by a chic double-sized doorway. It also has five full bathrooms and two half bathrooms.
There is built-in cabinetry in the dining area that opens to a wet bar with plenty of built-in space for storing drink bottles and glasses.
Situated on the other side of the bar, the sitting area boasts a floor to ceiling marble fireplace. The stunning backyard is accessible through the sliding glass doors.
A second dining area, a pool, a spa, a fire pit, and a guest house with the potential to be a home gym are all located in the outdoor area. According to Architectural Digest, Marlon could even shoot hoops with the lads on the half-size basketball court on the property if he had company around.
The comedian involved in a custody dispute with a concealed daughter
The Blast revealed that Marlon was involved in a custody dispute for a hidden 1-year-old daughter, four months prior to his domestic crisis. He took action after Brittany Moreland, the mother of the kid, confronted him with a request for an enormous child support bill.
On “The Shade Room,” in March, the 51-year-old offered his version of events. He explained that he was shielding his daughter Axl from harm rather than keeping her hidden from the public, saying:
“God is all love. The child is not under wraps. The mother has been shared on social media. However, I made the decision to maintain the baby’s privacy. It’s not anyone’s business. I would prefer to keep her calm because social media may be harmful and poisonous.”
In response to a question on Moreland’s request for more than $21,000 in child support, the “White Chicks” actor stated that he would want to “remain in love and light,” even if he could force a reduction. That did not, however, apply to the custody dispute.
Calling Brittany Moreland “delusional,” Marlon Wayans
Marlon thought it absurd that Moreland, who was the child’s principal caregiver, simultaneously want complete custody of her daughter in addition to a substantial child support payment. To quote him:
Do you spend so much money every month only to be referred to as a ‘visitor?’ Compute the numbers. This is naive. God and the attorneys can handle this one themselves. I’ll be using my damaged heart to create art. All I have is love.”
In addition, Marlon called Moreland “entitled” for expecting more from his daughter than the $18,000 a month he had been contributing as “a good, loving, responsible father.”
Fans naturally took to social media to discuss the news, with many endorsing the comic. A response said, “Marlon is not troublesome. He made it very apparent that he is in charge of the list and won’t be treated like a guest. He is a paternal figure. That cannot make me angry.”
