Argyle acquires a Nigerian striker from Rooney

Wayne Rooney, the manager of Plymouth Argyle, has strengthened his team by recruiting a Nigerian striker.

Muhamed Tijani has been loaned to the English Championship club from Czech champions Slavia Prague for a period of one year.

The agreement includes an option for Argyle to acquire the former Nigeria under-20 international upon the conclusion of his loan.

On the club’s website, Rooney stated, “Muhamed’s arrival will further fortify our forward line and contribute a variety of skills to the squad.”

“He is a large, athletic individual who is capable of running in behind, but he is also adept at holding the ball and involving other players.”

“He has a strong pedigree, having played and scored in the Europa League. However, he is still young and eager to improve.” We are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to collaborate with him.

Muhamed played for Třinec, Karvina, and Taborsko on loan during the 2021/22 season. In 33 games, he scored 13 goals. Taborsko was in the Czech second division.

In 2022/23, he made his debut for the Ostrava first team, appearing in 25 matches as they finished 11th in the top division.
