Beyoncé and Jay-Z, according to Megan Thee Stallion, assisted her in “learning how to be my own boss”: “You Own Every Tool”

Together, Megan and Beyoncé had already won a Grammy Award for their “Savage Remix” project.

JAY-Z and Beyoncé are supporting Megan Thee Stallion.

On Monday, July 1, the “Captain Hook” rapper talked about her friendship with the power couple and shared how they have aided her career in an interview with the Club Shay Shay podcast.

During the discussion, Megan, 29, was questioned by host Shannon Sharpe about her choice to go independent and split from her record label. Megan shared the advice JAY-Z gave her after giving the move some thought.

“They told me that I had to handle things on my own when I wanted to escape the predicament I was in. I can tell you’re studying something because you already know what it is, you have all the resources, and you’re going through all the legal shit right now. Thus, you ought to be able to work out how to advance and become your own employer,” Megan remembered saying.

The “HISS” rapper went on to say that Beyoncé served as inspiration for some of her other business ventures, such as launching her own tequila company.

“I used to be the cognac queen, but as much as I used to enjoy cognac and I promoted a lot of people’s liquor brands, she was like, ‘The next time I see you, you need to have your own alcoholic beverage,'” she stated. “I feel like they definitely put me in a position to learn how to be my own boss.”

Megan thanked the pair for being her business mentors as she thought back on their relationship.

“I never imagined that the people I looked up to would be in charge of me.” It simply seemed like a large family. They’re just very wise. They have experienced everything. They just know how to carry it, even if they’re still going through it now,” she remarked.

“And the best are teaching me.” I feel as though I’m in the ideal situation. Never before have I felt so secure knowing that these individuals have my back. “It’s amazing how much they’ve matured, how hard they work, and how much they let all the chatter and other comments slide off their backs,” she went on.

A remix of Megan’s smash song “Savage,” which won two Grammy Awards for greatest rap song and best rap performance, featured the Renaissance artist in 2020.

During Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in September, Megan surprised everyone by performing “Savage Remix” in Houston, the couple’s hometown.

Megan posted a TikTok after the show in which she sobbed as she thought back on the dream sequence.

“Hey guys, what’s up? It’s your gal, the sultry coach Megan Thee Stallion! And bitch, because I performed with Beyoncé, I will never shut the f— up! “You guys have no idea how many tears I’ve shed this weekend,” she remarked over the narration. You guys fail to realize that Beyoncé is my hero. Like, I honestly have the deepest affection for Beyoncé. I decided to go to f—ing battle behind Beyoncé, so I got on this camo.
