Angola advances to the semifinals of the Zim Eye in Group C

Angola led Group C after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Seychelles on Monday in the 2024 Cosafa Cup. Zimbabwe will try to advance to the tournament’s semi-finals on Tuesday afternoon when they play Kenya at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium.

Angola defeated Seychelles in a close match on Monday in the Eastern Cape, moving them to the top of Group C on goal differential.

In the ninth minute of play, Depu gave the Black Sable Antelopes the lead. However, goals from Johan Gamatice and Brandon Labrosse in the 26th and 46th minutes, respectively, cut into their lead.

Then, just before the hour, Depu tied the score, and Maestro’s goal in the 78th minute put an end to the match between the two teams.

Elsewhere, a victory over Kenya at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium on Tuesday afternoon will guarantee Zimbabwe a position in the Cosafa Cup semifinals. (Start time is 12 p.m. CAT.)

After defeating Comoros and Zambia at the competition last month, the Warriors now have a perfect victory record.
