Prior to the 24/25 season, Chelsea maps out Jackson’s strategy

According to recent allegations in the media, Chelsea have reached a choice over future plans involving Nicolas Jackson, as Enzo Maresca attempts to shape his team before the start of the 2024/25 season.

The Senegalese forward has been linked with a transfer away from Stamford Bridge in the last couple of months, following a rough start to life with the London-based giants.

It was previously rumored that Atletico Madrid exhibited interest in the powerful attacker, with Jackson supposed to be angry at Maurico Pochettino’s departure at the end of last season.

Now though, according to football journalist Simon Jordan, Chelsea are hoping to acquire competition for Jackson in the hitting department.

Jordan wrote for the Athletic, citing Chelsea News, “This has always been part of the plan because Chelsea want competition for Nicolas Jackson, but the club now sees the aim as being a bit less specific.”

“Chelsea are targeting one or two attacking players rather than committing to a central striker.

“Head coach Enzo Maresca prefers to play with just one centre-forward and there are others already in the squad who can also lead the line, such as Christopher Nkunku.”
