Gor Mahia’s Omalla letter to McKinstry: “We will always cherish the memories we have”
Benson Omalla, a striker for Gor Mahia, has thanked departing coach Jonathan McKinstry and stated that he will always cherish the moments they shared as the FKF Premier League champions.
The Northern Irish strategist managed K’Ogalo’s 4-3 victory over Bidco United in his final game with the squad, and on Sunday, the team received the trophy for their historic 21st championship. In addition to being voted K’Ogalo’s captain, Omalla won the Golden Boot title with 19 goals, the final two of which came in the victory over Bidco.
It’s finally over, what a long season it has been. Omalla stated, “I want to thank God first and foremost for His love and unwavering support. “I also want to thank my incredible coach very much. I’ve always felt that you support me and encourage me to do my best. The memories we have formed together will last a lifetime, despite your departure. I hope your new assignment goes well for you. And now, a huge thank you to all of my teammates.
We won as a team, and without your steadfast faith and encouragement in front of the goal, I would not have been the top scorer. We are incredibly grateful to our fans! Your unwavering encouragement and support inspired us to keep working harder. You were there to cheer us on whether we won or lost.
“A particular thank you to the Green Army for supporting us the entire season. And lastly, a big congratulations to my rivals, Makwatta and Tito Okello. My close rivals Makwatta and Tito Okello, you guys did great, and it motivated me to work even harder. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all.
