“Some Kind Of Stomach Thing” Is Supposed To Have Hospitalized Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey’s health has taken a turn for the worse as rumors circulate that the talk show queen was admitted to the hospital with an unexplained stomach illness. The media mogul had previously talked about her former engagement in weight-loss shows, her regrets, and her battles with weight loss.
During a CBS segment that Oprah Winfrey missed, her longtime friend Gayle King spoke about the latter’s health.
The Unexpected Hospital Stay of Oprah Winfrey: An Inside Look
Intimate revelations regarding Oprah Winfrey’s health were revealed by Gayle King on Tuesday’s “CBS Mornings” broadcast, providing insight behind the media mogul’s absence from the program.
Author David Wroblewski was being interviewed by King and other anchors about his new book, “Familiaris,” which Oprah had chosen as the newest selection for her book club.
The 69-year-old revealed that Oprah had been hospitalized due to a serious gastrointestinal ailment.
King did not hold back in offering additional details about Winfrey’s illness, characterizing it as “a serious thing.” The TV personality revealed, citing TMZ:
“She was experiencing symptoms of the stomach flu and had stuff coming out of both ends. I will not be overly detailed. It goes without saying that she ended up in the hospital due to severe dehydration and required an IV.”
Amid worries, Gayle King provides updates on Oprah’s health.
On Tuesday’s “CBS Mornings” show, Oprah’s best pal reassured viewers as worries over her health risk grew.
King, who had before highlighted how dire the famous TV personality’s circumstances were, assuaged people’s fears by revealing that her best friend was making progress.
However, King was concerned about other matters. King expressed anxiety that making the health news public may enrage Oprah, but he also expressed hope that she wouldn’t object.
On the morning show, Wroblewski eagerly pushed his new work, seemingly unaffected by Oprah’s absence.
In a prior social media endorsement, Oprah praised “Familiars” as a compelling read in a well-written caption.
Oprah’s Apologies Regarding Diet Culture
Oprah had openly admitted that her large and powerful platform had contributed to the promotion of diet culture before her purported health issue.
The actress discussed her involvement in a “WeightWatchers” special during an episode, according to The Blast. Oprah acknowledged:
“I have been a steadfast participant in this diet culture through my platforms, through the magazine, through the talk show for 25 years, through online.”
She declared, “I’ve been a major contributor to it,” in addition to acknowledging her substantial role. Since I’ve worked in television, weight-loss programs and makeovers have been a regular feature of my job. I can’t even begin to count how many of these I’ve done.”
Reactions To Oprah Winfrey’s Apology Were Mixed
Some admirers showed support for her after she made her statement about diet culture, but others doubted her sincerity.
One person highlighted the significance of supporting health at whatever weight on X (previously Twitter): “I accept her apology. People occasionally forget that health may be achieved at any weight.
Simultaneously, this online user charged Oprah with endorsing diet pills, commenting, “She’s saying that because she discovered Ozempic.”
Her apology contained a contradiction, as one critic noted, saying, “The majority of her talk show career was founded on diet culture. If she really was apologetic, she would just stop talking about it.”
Oprah Winfrey Thought Back on Her Decision to Abstain from Parenthood
Oprah is still a powerful lady despite doubts about her most recent remarks, and many people are interested in learning more about her personal life, including the reason she doesn’t have kids.
The Blast revealed in 2021 that Oprah responded to this question and gave an explanation for her choice. She described how she thought about being a mother after meeting Stedman Graham and becoming engaged.
Oprah finally made the decision not to have children, though. After giving her talk show a thought, she said she “realized the depth and responsibility and sacrifice that is actually required to be a mother.”
According to Oprah, “I realized, ‘Whoa, I’m talking to a lot of messed-up people, and they are messed up because they had mothers and fathers who were not aware of how serious that job is.'”
She also conveyed her admiration for ladies who were able to juggle other obligations with motherhood. According to her:
“I find that other ladies are able to compartmentalize better than I am. I have the utmost respect for mothers who choose to stay at home with their children for this reason—I don’t know how you manage to do it all day. Women are not given the credit they merit.”
