“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” speeds to a $104 million worldwide premiere

“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” has exploded at the box office, grossing over $100 million in its first weekend worldwide. Featuring the dynamic team of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, the fourth installment in Sony’s buddy cop comedy series brought in an incredible $104.6 million, of which $48.6 million came from overseas viewers.

Will Smith is making a big comeback with this movie, which is his first big picture since the 2022 Oscars incident. A major factor in the success of the movie was the long-lasting appeal of the “Bad Boys” franchise, which has captured the attention of viewers for more than thirty years.

“Bad Boys 4” was produced for $100 million by Sony, with additional millions going toward global marketing. The picture is well-positioned for its theatrical run thanks to its great start. It is unclear, though, if it will be able to top the record set by “Bad Boys for Life,” which brought in $206 million domestically and $426 million internationally in 2020.

“Ride or Die” follows detectives Mike and Marcus as they unearth wrongdoing within the Miami Police Department and is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. They had to operate outside the law to solve the crime after being set up. Alongside Smith, Jerry Bruckheimer—a recurring presence in the franchise—produced the movie.

With $56 million, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” was the highest grossing film domestically. With $4.9 million over five days, the United Kingdom witnessed the best international opening. Mexico came in second with $4.2 million, followed by Germany and Saudi Arabia with $3.7 million apiece within the same time frame. Major regions like China, Japan, and Italy have not yet hosted the film’s premiere, which might increase its earnings even further.

“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” is off to an amazing start, and fans everywhere are eager to follow detectives Mike and Marcus on their most recent adventure because of its action-packed plot and adored characters.
