Grammy-Award Winning Producer The-Dream is sued for alleged sexual assault and rape

Chanaaz Mangroe, The-Dream’s former protege, has filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual abuse and rape.

His former protégé, Chanaaz Mangroe, who went by the stage name Channii Monroe, filed a complaint on Tuesday naming the 47-year-old, whose true name is Terius Gesteelde-Diamant, as a defendant.

According to the lawsuit, Gesteelde-Diamant once videotaped an intimate encounter and threatened to show the video to others. She also allegedly strangled Mangroe and repeatedly forced her to do sexual acts.

Known for penning songs for musicians including Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, and Beyoncé, Diamant has refuted the allegations.

Mangroe is purportedly suing for “lost wages” as well as “mental pain and anguish and severe emotional distress,” according to the 60-page lawsuit.

She moved to the US to pursue a career as a singer and songwriter after leaving the Netherlands, and according to the lawsuit, she met Diamant in January 2015.

The 33-year-old claims he forced her to drink “excessively”, strangled her until she “almost lost consciousness”, forced her to have “violent sexual encounters” that left her with bruises, coerced her into having sex in a movie theater, and raped her in a converted sprinter van.
