Diaz and Haller anticipate winning the UCL title

When Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund square off at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, Moroccan forward Brahim Diaz and Ivory Coast center-forward Sebastien Haller—two of the biggest African players in European football this season—could win their first UEFA Champions League medals.

It kicks underway at 9:00 p.m. CAT (South Africa, GMT+2)

Haller, who struggled with injuries for a significant portion of the 23–24 season, was a bit player for Dortmund as they advanced to the championship.

This season, in the Champions League, the Ivorian played 50 minutes in total and was substituted in the second half of matches against Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid.

Haller’s lone goal in the competition occurred on April 10th, when BVB lost 2-1 to Atletico in their first-leg quarterfinal match at the Civitas Metropolitano.

Similar to Haller, Carlo Ancelotti primarily utilized Diaz as a substitute in Europe this season. Diaz had nine appearances in the UCL, making three starts and substituting six times.

Regarding goal contributions, Diaz was able to record goals against RB Leipzig (last 16) and SC Braga (group stage), while in his second tournament start against Napoli, the African sensation recorded an assist.

When he thought back on his Champions League outings, Diaz said that his goal against Leipzig was among his greatest to date.

“It was a truly magnificent and amazing season.” The Champions League final is now underway. “It’s one of my best goals ever, and the goal against Leipzig is a great memory,” Diaz said to Sky Sports during the UEFA Media Day.

There is a great deal of confidence and drive; Real Madrid has to win the Champions League every time. Although it won’t be simple, Madrid is the team to beat in the competition, ahead of Milan.

Additionally, Diaz saved the best accolades for Ancelotti because of his qualities as a club father figure.

He is consistently calm and serene, much like a parent. I am thrilled for him because he is an amazing instructor who has achieved great success and has given me a lot.
