Aubameyang reveals Arteta’s cruel dismissal from Arsenal

According to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, during the incident that ultimately brought an end to his career at Arsenal, Mikel Arteta accused him of “putting a knife in his back.”

After leading the Gunners to FA Cup triumph and signing a new contract, the former captain had a precipitous fall from favor when he was sacked at the Emirates. He would never play for Arsenal again after being dropped out of a December 2021 match against Southampton.

After his contract was terminated, he was finally able to join Barcelona, but not before Arteta barred him for visiting his ailing mother, even though she had approved the trip overseas.

According to The Mirror, the now-Marine star told Colinterview: “It was during the COVID period and we were playing, I think, Everton.” My season wasn’t going well; we weren’t doing well in the league. The coach had informed us the day before that it didn’t matter if we won or lost; you had the day off. However, you must adhere to the health and safety regulations, so if you need to leave, you must let yourself know before the game.

“I went to see the coach because I’d like to go; I’m going to go pick up my mother to bring her back for the holidays,” I said, recalling that my mother had suffered a stroke a few months before. It was going to be Christmas time. He says there’s no issue.

Aubameyang had to go through a number of Covid procedures upon his return, which caused a minor delay in his comeback to Arsenal. Additionally, he took the test later than expected, and Arteta angrily criticized him, leading to the breakup of their relationship.

“I come, the coach finishes his meeting and then he grabs me and he completely tears into me, shouting at me like I’m crazy and saying, ‘You put a knife in my back,'” Aubameyang claimed. With all that we’re going through, you can’t do that to me. I tell myself at that point that I won’t respond to him since it will just end badly.

“I didn’t go out to party. He is well aware of the cause behind my leave, so I’m not sure why he is lecturing me in this manner right now. “Tomorrow, the coach doesn’t want you to be there,” the doctor tells me over the phone as I go home.
