As she turns eighteen, Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh files to legally drop his last name

Shiloh, the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has submitted a name change application.

According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Jolie and Pitt’s 18-year-old daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has requested to have the “Pitt” removed from her last name. The adolescent wants to change her legal name so she may just go by “Shiloh Jolie.”

On Monday, May 27, which was also Shiloh’s 18th birthday, the paperwork was submitted. The news was initially broken by TMZ.

Jolie and Pitt have six children together: Vivienne, 15, Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, Pax, 20, and Knox.

There are more children of Jolie and Pitt who seem to go by a different name than Shiloh. The adolescent is identified as “Vivienne Jolie” rather than “Vivienne Jolie-Pitt” on the Playbill for the upcoming musical The Outsiders, which their daughter Vivienne assisted mother Jolie in producing, PEOPLE confirmed.

It’s unclear right now if Vivienne has officially changed her name as well.

In November of last year, Zahara, the eldest daughter of the former marriage, identified herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” when she joined the Mu Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at her college, Spelman College, according to a video released by Essence.

Since Jolie initially requested a divorce and sole physical custody of their children in 2016, there have been numerous allegations of tension in Pitt’s connection with his kids. These claims coincide with the three purported name changes.

A Pitt source told PEOPLE in August 2022 that, despite the exes’ protracted custody dispute, the 60-year-old actor hoped to soon find better ground with his kids. “It’s been a sad situation for years,” they clarified.
