Andre Ayew is not included in Ghana’s Black Stars roster for the FIFA World Cup

Before Ghana’s national team plays Mali and the Central African Republic in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifications, Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has been disregarded by team management.

Andre had a respectable season with French Ligue 1 team Le Havre, helping them to survive with six goals in 19 games.

That does not appear to have been sufficient, though, to keep him in the lineup before the pivotal double header.

He recently discussed changing the team’s unsettling recent performance, which has seen Ghana eliminated from the Group stage in consecutive AfCONs.

On June 6, 2024, Ghana will play Mali. On June 10, 2024, Ghana will play the Central African Republic.

In Group I, Ghana has a win over Madagascar and a loss to Comoros.
