Manchester United player selected for the Democratic Republic of Congo’s squad in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Sebastien Desabre, the head coach of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has announced the players that will be part of the team for the forthcoming qualifiers of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The French coach, who led the Leopards to a fourth-place finish in the 2023 AFCON championships, announced a roster of 25 players for the next matches against Senegal and Togo.

Axel Tuanzebe, a former England youth international and defender for Manchester United, has been selected for the Ipswich Town squad after changing his nationality.

Congo will play an away match against Senegal at the Diamniadio Olympic Stadium in Diamniadio on 6 June, and then they will host Togo at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa on 9 June.

The whole roster of leopards

Goalkeepers: Esdras Kabamba from FC Onze Bravos do Maquis, Dimitry Bertaud from Marseille, and Timothy Fayulu from Sion.

The defenders in the team are Chancel Mbemba from Marseille, Dylan Batubinsika from Saint-Etienne, Joris Kayembe from KRC Genk, Arthur Masuaku from Besiktas, Axel Tuanzebe from Ipswich Town, Gedeon Kalulu from Lorient, Inonga Baka from Simba SC, and Rocky Bushiri from Hibernian.

Midfielders: Edo Kayembe (Watford), Samuel Moutousammy (FC Nantes), Aaron Tshibola (Hatta FC), Charles Pickel (Cremonese), Gaël Katuka (Amiens SC), Théo Bongonda (Spartak Moscow), Meschack Elia (BSC Young Boys), Grady Diangana (West Bromwich Albion), and Noah Sadiki (Union Saint-Gilloise) are the players selected for the midfield position.

Strikers: Samuel Essende from Vizela Club, Fiston Mayele from FC Pyramids, Yoane Wissa from Brentford, and Simon Banza from SC Braga.
